About Mary Dixie

Mary Dixie is an artist born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her arts education started at the age of six when she began oil painting classes that she would attend util the age of 12. From there, Mary went on to attend the new orleans center for creative arts (NOCCA) for high school. In the summers, she attended residencies at Interlochen arts academy in Michigan and the Chicago art Institute.  Graduating from Nocca in 2003, she went on to receive a B.f.a from the Maryland institute of art in baltimore, Maryland in 2007. 

Portraiture is the primary focus of mary's work now but varies from fine art to craft and costume making.
